Recently a professor of a vocational college conducted a quick survey among his students. While it can not be considered statistically significant, the results appeared reflective of the youngsters in general. Following is what the professor wrote back to me.
1. How to overcome fear of failure?
2. How to feel Confident?
3. How to find Own Strength?
4. How to set Goals?
5. How to Concentrate?
6. How to overcome Procrastination – Knowing the importance, but Lazy.
7. How to make Right Decisions
8. Want to become Rich – How & what to do?
These issues can be harder to deal with, but more important, than all academic training combined. Note that when the first seven are accomplished, the 8th will follow. As a matter of fact, to accomplish these essential goals no lecture or book would suffice. Just like building our body takes regular exercises, so does building our internal strength & determination muscles. This requires use of the ‘whole mind’ and no college is geared to teach that.
I can see two options. Best is to use both, for better results.
My key questions to the aspiring students are:
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR EXPERIENCE?
WHAT EXPERIENCE TO YOU WANT TO CREATE?
WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO DO FOR IT?
WHAT ARE YOU NOT WILLING TO DO FOR IT?
